Cintiq + Photoshop CS5 “BRUSH TOOL” Pressure Sensitivity Fail
Update 4/23/2013: down grading didn’t do much nor usb 3 idea. I went and installed the latest driver and… I think I’m going to stick with it.
I was frustrated with pressure sensitivity going out of wack when I’m using photoshop. Basically, when I’m using paint brush in PS I get a line or dot with no pressure sensitivity… it’s very random and frequent. I did a lot of tweaking in the wacom tablet properties but didn’t do much. I searched around the forums and found some helpful information so tried it and seems to be working okay but still has problems. People suggested down grading the driver. I’m currently using 6.3.4-3 driver. However, that didn’t solve the issue like I hoped, so I started updating drivers for usb and other hardware for my pc… than I thought what if I plug usb for cintiq to usb 2.0 instead of 3.0…. That’s when I started noticing difference… I think. Seems like I’m getting much less sensitivity issue now than before.
I’m using Cintiq 21ux with 6.3.4-3 driver.
Fence
“fyi, the reason people often advise letting it sit for a few months is to let the natural oils of the cedar wood to dry out before you apply any sealant. This is particularly true of cedar fencing which comes from very new growth cedar and has alot of oil. I have done both on scores of feet of cedar fencing. My advice is to let it sit through the summer and then in the autumn, when it is generally drier, wash the cedar with a mixture of mildew killing solution and then use either Cabot’s Autstralian timber oil or Thompsons. I’m partial to Cabot’s.”
“We had a cedar fence installed last year (early summer) and let it “dry” for the summer. Used a stain sealer in the fall (Behr) and after the winter it looks like I just finished staining it.”
Chain (drawing in perspective)
I found easy way to draw chains in perspective by accident. Here’s how I did it.
1. Draw a line in perspective.
2. Erase to create oval shape along the line. (bigger the oval thinner the chain looks)
3. Erase in-between the ovals.
4. Now erase the one corner of the link. (See the image)
Windows 8 (smooth animated typing)
-Determine if you have turn on the animation in Windows:
1.Right click on My Computer icon on the Desktop and choose Properties option OR just hit Win+Pause
2.In the System window click the Advanced system settings link in the left pane
3.Click Continue button if prompted by UAC
4.Now click Settings button under Performance section
5.Select the Custom and check the option Animate controls and elements inside windows to enable animations
6.Click OK button
7.Click OK button in the System Properties window
